Welcome to Jotunheim

Jotunheim is a community-run Valheim game server and associated services. We’re a hobby project, not a corporation — but we still want to be clear about the rules so everyone knows what to expect.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Jotunheim game server, website (jotun.games), Discord community, shop, and all related services (collectively, “Services”). The Services are operated by Nashwind LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), a Wisconsin limited liability company.

By using our Services, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use our Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use our Services. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country (which ranges from 13 to 16 depending on your jurisdiction), you must have your parent or guardian’s permission to use our Services.

2. Account & Access

  • A Discord account is required to use our Services.
  • You may have one player account. Account sharing is not allowed.
  • You are responsible for your account’s activity.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access at any time for violations of these Terms or our server rules.

3. Virtual Currency (Runes)

Jotunheim features a virtual currency called “Runes” that can be used to purchase in-game items and services.

  • Runes have no real-world monetary value.
  • Runes cannot be transferred between players, traded, or exchanged for real money.
  • All Rune purchases are final. Refunds may be granted at our sole discretion on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, contact us at nashwindllc@gmail.com or open a support ticket on the Jotunheim Discord server.
  • We reserve the right to modify Rune values, pricing, availability, and the items available for purchase at any time.

4. Subscriptions

  • Subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) through Stripe.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time through the Stripe Billing Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.
  • Subscription tier changes are prorated by Stripe.
  • We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing and benefits with reasonable notice.

5. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Cheat, exploit bugs, or use unauthorized modifications
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other players
  • Evade bans using alternative accounts
  • Abuse the refund system
  • Impersonate staff or other players
  • Scrape, crawl, or access our Services through automated means without permission
  • Violate our server rules (see #server-rules in our Discord)

6. Bans & Termination

We may ban or terminate your account at our discretion for violations of these Terms or our server rules. We may retain your account data after a ban to enforce the ban and prevent evasion.

7. Intellectual Property

  • Jotunheim mods, content, and branding are the property of Nashwind LLC.
  • Valheim is the property of Iron Gate Studio AB. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Iron Gate Studio.
  • By using our Services, you grant us a non-exclusive license to store, display, and use content you create or submit through our Services (such as chat messages) for the purpose of operating and maintaining the Services.

8. Disclaimers

Our Services are provided “as-is” and “as-available” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

  • Continuous, uninterrupted, or secure access to our Services
  • The permanence of virtual items, progress, or account data
  • That the game server will not be reset, wiped, or shut down

We are a hobby project and do our best, but things happen.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nashwind LLC’s total liability for any claims arising from your use of the Services is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for lost virtual items, game progress, or data.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via our Discord server with at least 14 days’ notice before taking effect. Continued use of our Services after such notice constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States.
