Hello and welcome to Jotunheim!
We are a family-friendly community Valheim server, dedicated to creating the best possible experience for our players.
Here’s what you need to know to get started:
1. First you must read the Server Rules and FAQ.
It’s very important that you read and understand all the rules, as some might surprise you, and may be different even if you were on the server in the past.
Failure to follow the rules can result in a ban, so please read them carefully.
Once you have read the Rules and FAQ, return to this page, and proceed to step 2.
2. Go to the Application page and fill out the application form.
Once complete, click on the “Copy to Clipboard and Open Jotunheim Discord” button.
If you’re already signed into Discord in your browser, this will automatically take you to the Discord channel to create a ticket for step 3.
3. The next thing you’ll need to do is create a Whitelist Request ticket.
Without this, you will be unable to join the Valheim server.
To do so, go to the Start-here channel and press the “Create ticket” button.
4. This will create a new ticket for you, which will appear as a new channel on the left side (something like “#ticket-0123”).
Go into that channel and you’ll find some instructions.
If you have followed the instruction above properly, all you’ll need to do is press Ctrl + V to paste the application form into your ticket.
5. Once you have pasted your application form into your Whitelist Request ticket, wait for a Moderator to begin the whitelist process.
There are still a few steps left to go, please respond as quickly as you can to each question.
After you’ve answered all of the questions, a moderator will ping an Admin to review your application, and complete the whitelist process.
Please keep in mind our staff are all volunteers, it may take up to 24 hours to get a response. Typically, it’s much quicker. Please be patient, tickets are worked in the order in which they are received.
Frequently Asked Questions about Joining
Unfortunately, due to limitations with Valheim and running a large server, we cannot support the following:
– Players who are playing via Cross-Play with Xbox
– Players who are playing via G-Force Cloud
– Players who wish to use the Valheim VR mod
– Players who are playing via a Mac
This will vary a lot, but we try to make it as quick and efficient as possible. There are multiple steps in the whitelisting process, and we are not always online at all hours. To make this process go as quickly as possible, please read the above guide carefully as the most common cause of delay is a failure to fill out a whitelist request properly. This means also guaranteeing that every aspect of your profile is visible, including hours played. It can take up to 24 hours for someone to respond to your ticket, but even after a response you will need to answer a few questions and there will be a bit of back and forth. If you are online and respond quickly, your ticket will go faster. Usually tickets are handled in under 24 hours, but if you don’t respond for a while or you are online late night/during the work day, yours may take longer.
99% of the time when someone thinks we’ve “forgotten” about them, we’ve just been busy handling other things and are well aware of their ticket status. Remember, we all have lives and many of us work jobs on top of volunteering our time for the server for free. Also note that the more someone continually @’s the staff due to impatience, the less likely we are to provide help.
Tickets are handled in the order they are received, and we are always keeping an eye on them. We will not make special exceptions for anyone, so this type of message will not help expedite anything.
